Collection: NEW BEGINNINGS

I inherited some old canvas artboards from my husbands late grandfather who was also an artist, and inventor. I felt inspired to create a small series of paintings that spoke to me personally rather than painting for anyone else. I often paint what other people ask for, or what I think people will want. I think the buyer in me is always thinking customer first. But when I looked at these artboards I wanted to paint for me. This series of birds have come from the heart. I was always so inspired by the wildlife in Singapore when we called it home and I still am as it reminds me of warm and happy days. Hornbills flying above me when I went to get coffee, Egrets and Herons high up in the trees by the water.

Painting these magnificent birds took me back to a happy time, I feel freedom and alive when I look at them, I wonder what do you feel?
